Lincoln’s Assassination: Was It Just One Mad Act?
It’s our 20th Annual Conference, and we are once again searching for facts related to the Lincoln assassination. The theme this year is a little different as it is focused on the question “Was It Just One Mad Act?” Each of us has likely had a theory over the years as to whether Booth acted as a lone wolf or as part of a larger conspiracy. Our roster of speakers have their thoughts -- and some findings that might surprise you.
Again, we will be offering two outstanding tours on Friday and Sunday of the con-ference. The first takes us to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to visit the new museum complex on Harriet Tubman and the Under-ground Railroad. On Sunday, our bus will head into Orange County, Virginia, for history spanning the late-1700s and the Civil War. Separate reservations are required for each on a first-come basis.
An opening reception at the museum’s James O. Hall Research Center will be held on Friday evening, beginning at 5:30 pm. Saturday night’s banquet will feature the talk
John Wilkes Booth and the Women Who Loved Him.
